I’m CJ.
I’m a CFO. I’ve spent my career at the intersection of raising money and running companies, and studying the metrics used to convey business progress and what great looks like.
I started Mostly Metrics because I couldn’t find clear explanations of SaaS metrics as they were being invented and applied. Things like net dollar retention and CAC payback, and how they contribute to a company’s valuation when you raise or go to sell.
These days I write about financial metrics, monetization models, building durable companies, and all the ways AI is changing finance. And honestly, all the ways it isn’t.
I do my best to explain it all in plain English. Because no one likes someone trying to be the smartest guy in the room. Seriously, that guy sucks.
