Mostly metrics is proudly powered by Brex

Growth should create leverage, not more administrative work.

If revenue doubles and your finance team is just reviewing twice as many receipts, that’s not scale. That’s linear workload growth.

That’s why I use Brex.

Brex built an Intelligent Finance platform with AI agents that automate repetitive work — receipts, categorization, policy enforcement, reconciliation — so that finance output improves as the business grows, and I can focus on scaling the MM empire.

If you care about operating leverage, your finance stack should reflect that.

See why 35,000 companies like Anthropic, DoorDash (and me!) use Brex to spend smarter and move faster.

It’s here.

Getting ready to smash that docsend link

The best thing about having a group of smart practitioners who read mostly metrics is we can run surveys that produce first party data sets that make us collectively better at our jobs. Running a survey is easy. Getting people to answer it is hard. Getting the right people to answer it is v. hard.

But we did it (again!). 1,364 of your answered the call. What follows is our second annual benchmarking report on the tools finance leaders use to get the job done.

And it’s segmented by revenue size so the information is relevant to your company stage.

(Click my book report. I dare you. It’s free.)

Here are a couple takeaways from the report:

Market gainers y/y

  • Gaining even 1% of market share is difficult when there are only 100 points (BIPS!) to go around

FP&A

We’re all just one claude plugin away from mass extinction or unbound riches

  • We received 56 unique tool submissions for FP&A (LOL WHAT)

  • Until +$50M, the majority of companies are still using spreadsheets to run FP&A

  • However, Abacum claimed 6% to 8% market share from $10M to $50M

  • Pigment is now the #2 player behind Adaptive post $50M, with a growing contingent at companies greater than $100M relying on their tech

Corporate Cards

  • Ramp holds the majority of the market through $100M, after which the enterprise increasingly relies upon Brex

  • Navan continues to double up on travel + expense management

  • American Express was significantly lower than last year

Thank you to our sponsors for their thought leadership and support

Hoping Claude doesn’t drop a plugin on your ass
