“What’s your AI strategy?”
True story - I remember the first time a VC asked me that, and I was like, well that’s a lazy question… ‘what’s YOUR AI strategy? I sell car parts online, my mans’
Didn’t go over that well…
So if that boardroom question makes you sweat, you're not alone. Many of us CFOs are still sorting through where AI actually fits into our finance orgs in a way that is practical, not just performative.
That’s why Brex created The CFO Guide to AI Strategy. It’s a straightforward look at how finance teams are using AI today to cut manual work, move faster, and make better decisions, without overcomplicating things. Get the guide:
It’s Time to Rep Your Stack
No one ever asks me for my blueberry scone recipe. They do, however, frequently ask:
“What tools does your finance team use to get the job done?”
So we're BACK with our second annual Finance Tech Stack Survey.
Last year, over 1,000 CFOs told us exactly what they use across FP&A, expense management, AP, corporate cards, close management, and more. It became the go-to resource for finance leaders making purchasing decisions.
This year, we built something better.
(I’m not kidding. It took me 8 months to build and 431 packs of those delicious cinnamon dots pretzels)
Instead of a static report, you now get instant, personalized benchmarks the moment you submit.
See what your peers actually use: top tools across every category, filtered to your exact revenue cohort
Dig into detailed vendor profiles: real pricing estimates, implementation timelines, and CFO testimonials
Adoption curves by category: Go deeper into any layer of the stack to see how market share moves as you get larger
See what's coming: toggle to the next revenue stage and find out what you'll probably be buying in 18 months
Think G2, but built by finance people who've actually purchased and implemented this stuff.
The survey takes 2 to 3 minutes. It's 100% multiple choice. You literally just click bubbles.
Your submission helps the entire community make better decisions. And you get real-time access to the benchmarks immediately. Like this:
Please, for the love of ERPs, take the damn survey.
Take the survey and get the live data immediately!
If you’re a vendor and want to claim your free profile, fill this out and we’ll help you update your info so users get the latest and greatest perspective on what you’ve been up to.
Run the Numbers Podcast
In this episode of Run the Numbers, I sit down with Intercom CFO Dan Griggs to discuss pricing and forecasting in the AI era. Dan shares the “it’s not zero” rule, the logic behind Fin’s $0.99 pricing, and how to bet on AI without blowing up the core business.
Dan tells us how AI allowed Intercom to reaccelerate revenue at scale. This is a wild tale.

Forward Deployed Data
The alternative to fully deployed comes via two failure modes you've probably lived through:
Fully decentralized: Every team owns their own data. Sales ops has their Salesforce reports. Marketing has their HubSpot dashboards. Finance is pulling from NetSuite. Everyone is technically correct within their own walled garden, and leadership can't get a straight answer on whether the GTM engine is actually working. And God forbid you need to combine Sales data with Finance data.
Fully centralized, but bottlenecked: Finance owns all the data, but you have to file a ticket and wait two weeks to get a report. By the time the analysis comes back, your “partner” got impatient and just made the decision based on whatever info they could cobble together..
Forward deployed is the third (and best) option. The truth is centralized, while the delivery is distributed. We’ve broken the paradigm. We’ve split the attom. Let’s learn how…
