Reading Naval's Almanack book and he mentions that you need to play long term game with folks. I really like the fact that Kyle is looking to take that game one step further by identifying talent. Coming from a developing country, usually you look up to your college alumni for possible career paths.

However, Kyle's move will just enable a new wave of young, and innovative founders to think beyond the traditional career paths. This was an eye opener. Many golden nuggets in there. Love it, CJ.

So funny you mention Navals Almanack - I read (well, listened) to that exact chapter yesterday.

I totally buy into playing long term games with long term people. Especially in the startup world where there will be multiple companies to collaborate on

Thanks man. I’m starting to really like these interviews. You could prob do some killer ones with people in the sports world. Maybe even interview an agent. I’ve always wondered how that world works. Or a family office

Love this pairing! To me that question around the prioritization of firm brand, firm offerings/SKUs and personal brands is what’s most interesting.

Kyle crushed it.

I had never heard the term "sku" used in reference to VC services.

It makes a lot of sense. And I think OpenView has a number of unique, value add skills. Especially around PLG pricing and packaging

It's very interesting to see that VCs actually enter the lives of early entrepreneurs and help them kickstart their career.

It's almost like a pre-seed stage lol.

Great read as usual CJ, keep it up!
